Auditions!
The Celebration Players proudly announce auditions for the musical version of the Christmas classic Miracle on 34th Street! Written by the creator of The Music Man, Meredith Willson, It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas is a musically rich, comedic and heartwarming story that audiences will not soon forget!
Auditions will be held August 30-31 (choose one) at North High School Auditorium (985 Gorge Blvd.) from 7-9 p.m. for anyone age 8 or older. Those auditioning must prepare 16 measures of a song of their choice (memorized) and bring sheet music (accompanist provided). They must also be prepared to present a monologue provided (does not have to be memorized, but that is highly encouraged), do some cold reading and come dressed ready to move for the choreography audition. Any child auditioning must be able to read from the script. Click here to download the monologues, here to download the tentative rehearsal schedule or here to download the character breakdown. Copies of the script can be checked out by contacting Dustin at (330) 762-7458 or pastordustin@ccakron.org.
AUDITION WORKSHOP
An audition workshop will be held every Wednesday in August in the sanctuary of Celebration Church (688 Dan St.) from 7-8:30 p.m. Anyone auditioning for the Celebration Players musical or any other production in the area is invited to come improve skills and gain a better understanding of what directors look for.
