Know the Signs of the Times (Luke 21:7-28)

How Should We Prepare for the Great Day

Ø Share the Joy of Knowing Christ

  • Share the gift of salvation and make disciples (Psalm 67:2-4; Matthew 24:14, 28:19-20).

Ø Fulfill Your Ministry

  • Evangelize and pour out what God has placed in us (2 Timothy 4:5-8).
  • God has given us the power to be witnesses (Acts 1:8).
  • We have the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

Ø Be Full of Faith

  • Faith is the reality of the unseen world in our lives (Hebrews 11:1).
  • By faith, Abraham waited for a city built by God (Hebrews 11:8-10).
  • Let Christ find us faithful (Luke 18:7-8).
  • Be blameless at Christ’s return (1 Corinthians 1:6-8).
  • Don’t be caught unaware (Matthew 24:37-39).
  • Eagerly wait for Christ’s return (Romans 8:23; Philippians 3:20; Hebrews 9:28).

Ø Consider Heaven

  • Store up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:19-21).
  • Heaven is a place of eternal worship and blessings (Revelation 7:9-12, 16-17).
  • There is no filter in heaven (I Corinthians 13:12).
  • Jonathan Edwards’ Resolution: “Resolved, to endeavor to obtain for myself as much happiness, in the other world, as I possibly can, with all the power; might, vigor, and vehemence, yea violence, I am capable of, or can bring myself to exert, in any way that can be thought of.”
