Key Text: Judges 6:1-24
God Calls Us Out of Desperate Situations
The Israelite’s were in bondage and suffered because of sin (Judges 6:1-5).
Gideon complained (Judges 6:13) and made excuses (Judges 6:15).
He had a worldly mindset instead of a kingdom mindset.
God Changes Our Identity and Shifts Our Mindset
The angel who visited Gideon was Jesus (Judges 6:12, 14, 16).
He reminded Gideon of his purpose and calling.
The word valor means “might” or “strength.”
Our identity is in Christ (Romans 13:14).
The Power of Sowing and Reaping
Gideon gave what he had to give (Judges 6:19).
God, in return, gave him peace: Jehovah Shalom (Judges 6:23-24).
The word shalom implies good health, prosperity, and contentment.
God is Calling Us Out of Hiding
The man with the withered hand had to show his weakness to the world (Luke 6:6-10).
God gives us power and strength to accomplish His purpose for us (Isaiah 40:29-31).
God will never leave us (Deuteronomy 31:6).
God Calls Us to Live by Faith
The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17).
Belief is the mindset of faith, and it produces good works.
A change of perspective and the confirmation of next steps comes as we get closer to who God has called us to be and where God has called us to be.
See through the eyes of faith, not fear.
