Key Text: Psalm 35:27-28

  • Shout for Joy and Be Glad (Psalm 35:27)
    • Living the kingdom life changes your perspective.
      • By praising God and trusting in Him, you can overcome your problems.
    • David won a great battle by trusting in God (1 Samuel 17:21-52).
      • God is greater than any giant you may face (1 John 4:4).
        • Don’t let your problems become a giant by magnifying them.
        • Like David, declare victory over your problems (1 Samuel 17:46-47).
      • You can’t always choose your battle, but you can choose your outcome.
      • When David declared that God was the rock of his salvation (Psalm 62:5-6), he was probably thinking of the stone that killed Goliath.
    • Jehoshaphat won a great battle through praise (2 Chronicles 20:15-25).
      • It is not by might, but by God’s Spirit that you will get the victory (Zechariah 4:6).
        • Victory is guaranteed when you trust in God.
    • The walls of Jericho fell because of praise (Joshua 6:1-20).
      • Obstacles in your life will fall when you praise God (Isaiah 12:6; Psalm 95:1).
    • Overcome your problems by having a joyful heart.
      • David commanded his soul to praise God (Psalm 42:5).
      • A joyful heart is like medicine (Proverbs 17:22).
      • The love of God has been poured out on us (Romans 5:5).
      • God will fill our mouths with laughter (Psalm 126:2).
      • Joy is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

  • Magnify the Lord (Psalm 35:27)
    • David magnified God instead of his problem (1 Samuel 17:46-47; Psalm 34:1-3).
      • He went before Goliath in the name and power of God.
    • God can do more than we ask or even think is possible (Ephesians 3:17-20).

  • The Lord has Pleasure in the Prosperity of His People (Psalm 35:27)
    • The word “prosperity” in Psalm 35:27 is more than just money and material wealth. It is the word Shalom, which means “peace, wholeness, perfectness, health, and safety.”
    • When we live in prosperity, we are restored to the divine order.
      • The leper who returned to thank Jesus was not just healed but restored in all areas of his life (Luke 17:11-19).
        • The word “whole” or “well” in Luke 17:19 is the Greek word sozo, which means “salvation, preservation, restoration, health, and safety.”
    • God has given us the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18).
    • Prosperous people are giving people (2 Corinthians 9:5-11).
      • God does everything for our benefit and His glory.

  • Speak of His Righteousness and Praise All Day Long (Psalm 35:28)
    • We should not be able to stop praising God’s righteousness (Psalm 71:15; Acts 4:18-20).
    • Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).
