Christ’s Return (I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
We have hope in Christ (v. 13).
This hope is like an anchor for our soul (Hebrews 6:19-20)
Those who are saved will no longer be subject to the laws of nature (gravity) (v. 17).
How to Prepare for Christ’s Return
Live a holy life (I Thessalonians 4:1-8).
We should be constantly growing in our relationship with Christ (v. 1).
Love others and work for God (I Thessalonians 4:9-12).
We should be constantly growing in our relationship with others (v. 10).
We should be working for God as we wait for Christ’s return (v. 12).
Walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-23).
Some people justify their actions, but the works of the flesh are evident (v. 19-21).
The gifts of God aren’t a sign of spiritual maturity, but the fruits are (v. 22-23).
Know the signs of Christ’s return (Matthew 24:4-14).
Offense makes way for the anti-christ (v. 10).
We can’t endure to the end without Christ (v. 13).
Watch for and expect Christ’s soon return (I Thessalonians 5:6; Matthew 24:36-44).
The Example of the Wise and Foolish Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)
The wise virgins brought extra oil (v. 4).
The oil comes from our relationship with Christ; press in for more (Philippians 3:14).
The foolish virgins waited until the last minute to get oil, but it was too late (v. 8-12).
We can’t live off of someone else’s faith.
